When looking at an image, I should learn to read it. There is a list of things to keep in mind while looking at image, such as:
What does a photo say?
Visual communication: There are two types of visual communication. One is the literal communication where is the artist is communicating a scene through an image. The latter, abstract, is done through the use of symmetry, iconography*, and use of suggestion.
Composition:
Nothing is every done at random, everything must intentional to some degree.
Visual aesthetic:
What is the style of a photograph? what does it look like?
*iconography: Iconography isĀ the use of images and symbols to portray a subject, movement or ideal. It can also be the use of certain symbols that convey specific genres such as religious iconography, iconography in art and iconography in film and television.
